TV and Setup
How do I show the game on a TV without an Apple TV?
Create a room on your iPhone or iPad, then open iOS Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring, and choose your smart TV, AirPlay receiver, or Roku. You can also connect your phone to any TV or monitor using an HDMI adapter.
Can friends play without installing the app?
Yes. Guests can point their phone camera at the QR code on the TV or open any browser and enter the 4-letter room code. The web controller connects instantly over the local network with zero install.
How many players can connect at the same time?
Pocketpad supports 2 to 8 simultaneous wireless controllers in party games, running at 60 frames per second with near-zero latency over your local Wi-Fi.
Can we play without an internet connection?
Yes. Pocketpad only needs a local Wi-Fi router or a phone personal hotspot. All gameplay packets travel directly between your devices offline without needing internet access.
Controllers and Knocks
How do the side-knock shoulder buttons work?
Pocketpad uses your iPhone motion sensor to detect when you physically tap or knock the left or right side of your phone chassis with your finger. Knocking the left side triggers L, and knocking the right side triggers R.
Knocks are triggering on the wrong side or feel too sensitive
Open the controller, swipe in from the left edge to open the Style drawer, and tap Knock Test to run the 3-knock calibration. You can also change Knock Sensitivity between Low, Medium, High, and Max to match your phone case.
My phone cannot find the TV room
Make sure both your phone and the host TV are on the exact same Wi-Fi network (and not on a guest network that isolates devices). On iOS, confirm that Pocketpad has Local Network access enabled in Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network → Pocketpad.

When will I get access to Pocketpad?
We are rolling out early access invites in waves to waitlist members. You will receive an invitation email with direct install links for iOS and tvOS, plus web controller instructions.
How do I check my waitlist position?
Type your email into the waitlist box on the homepage and submit. If you are already registered, it will immediately display your position number in queue.
